How to Identify and Report Eurasian Watermilfoil
Created by the Eurasian Watermilfoil Working Group

If you think you’ve spotted EWM, please use the following identifying and reporting guide.
When reporting an outbreak, three photos would be helpful:
- One of the EWM plants in the water,
- One of an EWM fragment in a white saucer or bowl with water,
- And one showing the location on the shoreline.
Please also provide the site’s location. GPS coordinates or closest E911 address would be helpful. You can email these to dslpoainvasive@gmail.com.

Step 1
Are there feathery looking leaves?

Step 2
Are there 3 to 5 leaves arranged in a circle around the stem?

Step 3
Do the leaves have 12 or more leaflets pairs on the main leaf?
