Update on our results for the Drag and Spruce Lake shoreline assessment project – 201 individualized reports ordered!

An excellent response. We hope everyone found their reports interesting and informative.

Now as the 2016 season draws to a close, this is a great time for us to all start planning our own shoreline improvement plans for the spring. It can be as simple as just letting Mother Nature reestablish herself along the shore – no work required!

Drag Lake Dam – Rehab Update

The rehabilitation work is on schedule for this fall. Update received from Parks Canada:

“Through investments in infrastructure, Parks Canada is protecting and preserving our treasured places, while supporting local economies, contributing to growth in the tourism sector, and enhancing the safety of Canada’s heritage sites.

As a part of these important investments, Parks Canada has announced funding in order to rehabilitate the Drag Lake dams in the Municipality of Dysart et al.

Our first major milestone towards this rehabilitation has been achieved and Parks Canada is happy to announce that the construction contract has been awarded to MTM-2 Contracting Inc.
