Water Level Update – Good News!

18 September 2014 | 0 Comments

Yes, autumn has arrived, and it’s time for all of us to focus on our multiple end of season tasks. It is also the time of year when the water levels of the lakes in the Trent-Severn reservoir system, including Drag and Spruce Lakes, are being drawn down to their winter set levels.

We have just had confirmed by the TSW that for this year, Drag/Spruce Lakes minimum water level will be 1 foot deeper than average – for comparison this is approximately equal to the level we normally see in early September. This is exactly in line with what our Association has been asking for.

Here is the current Drag/Spruce Lakes water level graph from TSW (note the levelling off of the current blue line vs the average red line):

Update – Sept 15

16 September 2014 | 0 Comments

We had been made aware of problems at the Sandy Cove Boat Launch with a drop off the edge of the concrete possibly doing damage to boats and trailers. When speaking with Murray Fearrey and Dennis Casey recently they said they would let Brian Nicholson at the works department know about the problem. It has been fixed and so should be safe for boat owners to use as the season draws to a close. Thanks to both of you for the quick response!

While it’s raining today, the leaves are starting to colour and it should be a beautiful fall, especially for the Studio Tour and Colour Fest on October 4-5 and 11-12 (Thanksgiving). Hope we see you up here soon – if you’re not fortunate enough to live here!
