"Contractors working for Parks Canada will be conducting geotechnical work at the Drag Lake South Dam the week of October 19.
Geotechnical work provides important information about the composition and integrity of soils and other materials like concrete, which is used to plan the design of projects and structures. This work will be conducted, potentially using a drill mounted to a pontoon boat or hand augers, on the concrete of the dam itself, and in the bed of the river upstream and downstream of the dam.
The work is expected to take two weeks.
The Drag Lake South Dam is scheduled for replacement in-situ, from July 2021 to March 2022."
