With the exception of the buoys marking the Milfoil weed bed, all the hazard “minions” have been replaced by the white wood markers. It was decided to delay the removal of the four minions guarding the weed bed until sometime in October so that area is still highly visible to anyone trying stretch out the boating season just that little bit more.
Many thanks to Glenn Tordoff, Ryan Vincent, Debra Farquharson and Allen Pizzey for volunteering their boats and piloting skills to help remove the buoys.
NOTE: Last winter, the ice locked onto the wooden marker for HR1 (sea mount north of Red Rock's Cliffs) and dragged the anchor off the plateau and into 50+ feet of water. To avoid a repeat performance this winter, the buoy and anchor have been removed completely. Unfortunately, that means that there is no temporary wood marker in that location. Please be extremely cautious when boating in that area.
