Navigation Hazard Update – Sep 18

18 September 2015 | 0 Comments
Update: September 18,2015
Look out! With water levels reaching the fall drawdown a vertical log has appeared and could cause a navigational hazard. It is located about 300 metres off Harris Beach, east of Pine Tree Point and south of Blueberry Trail. The topo map in the Directory, as well as our laminated map, will show some shallows extending south.  If you're in the area please be observant as it's hard to see and avoid this shore.

Water Level Update – Drag/Spruce Lakes

13 September 2015 | 0 Comments

Yes, it’s that time of year again when our water levels are being drawn down to their minimums for the winter set. We have been hearing concerns on this topic from our members: How low will they go? When will I have to get the boat and dock out of the water? All good questions – to help, here is where things stand:

  • our water level is currently higher than in an average year
  • the projection is that it will remain higher, by about 1 foot over the historical average low (NOTE: unfortunately like most things in life there are no guarantees – Mother Nature can have a mind of her own).

Use your own judgement with the best information available. Stay informed via the website for CEWF (Coalition For Equitable Water Flow) – cewf.ca. DSLPOA is a member.
