Water Level Update – Drag/Spruce Lakes

Yes, it’s that time of year again when our water levels are being drawn down to their minimums for the winter set. We have been hearing concerns on this topic from our members: How low will they go? When will I have to get the boat and dock out of the water? All good questions – to help, here is where things stand:

  • our water level is currently higher than in an average year
  • the projection is that it will remain higher, by about 1 foot over the historical average low (NOTE: unfortunately like most things in life there are no guarantees – Mother Nature can have a mind of her own).

Use your own judgement with the best information available. Stay informed via the website for CEWF (Coalition For Equitable Water Flow) – cewf.ca. DSLPOA is a member.

INFO: Here is a copy of the Drag Lake water level graph from TSW for Sep 13:

The blue line tracks the actual water levels for this year. The red line is the historical average. Use the scale on the left to assess relative depths – the 0.3 m degradations of the solid lines are equal to approximately 1 foot.
