Community Based Research for DSLPOA

30 March 2023 | 0 Comments

U-Links is a Minden based not-for-profit that links Haliburton County organizations with Trent University and Fleming College students. Under the supervision of a professor and for course credits, these students perform community-based research to assist a host organization. Since 2021 DSLPOA has participated in 5 such projects, two of which are still ongoing. Since all of our projects to date have been related to Eurasian Watermilfoil, the students’ reports are available at the top left of our website under EWM Information, or at this link – click here.

Questions about any of the reports can be sent to DSLPOAEWM@gmail.com

Our Milfoil Journey Continues…

24 March 2023 | 0 Comments
Since 2020 the property owners on Spruce and Drag Lakes have joined forces in an effort to learn about Eurasian Watermilfoil (EWM) and determine the best way to manage its presence in our lakes. With a grant from the Haliburton County Development Corporation, the Drag and Spruce Lakes Property Owners' Association (DSLPOA) engaged Brad Brown, to produce a short video documenting our progress up to summer 2022.

To view the video click on this link:  https://vimeo.com/810673970

If, after watching the video, you have questions about the DSLPOA EWM Program, send an email to DSLPOAEWM@gmail.com. Volunteer assignments are available from June through until the end of September. Donations to the EWM Fund can be made at any time – directions can be found at the top left of this website.
