First off and most importantly, thank you to everyone who has contributed to the
DSLPOA Eurasian Watermilfoil Fund! We’re thrilled to have reached our original
fundraising goal of $50,000. This achievement demonstrates that many property
owners on Drag and Spruce Lakes care deeply about our lakes, fish population and
waterfowl. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. We are happy to report the EWM
Working Group has repaid the DSLPOA Lake Stewardship Fund for last year’s loan.
We are also happy to report that fundraising has actually surpassed $50,000 – this
is an incredible achievement considering it is less than one year since our first
appeal for your assistance!

One of the conditions of accepting a grant from the Haliburton County Development Corporation is that we provide regular progress reports regarding our project, the Identification and Control of Eurasian Watermilfoil in Drag and Spruce Lakes. One of the items in this report is the launch of the month-long Mike Podmore Memorial Weed Hunt, which is open to the family of any property owner that has paid their DSLPOA membership in either 2020 or 2021. The rules of the event are quite simple:
