Updates July 18, 2016

Podmore Beach – A big thank you goes to Wayne Hussey and his volunteers who  worked hard on Saturday morning and made great improvements to Podmore Beach.  We now have 2 new picnic tables on the grassy area and several benches on the beach.  The tables have been donated by Timbermart in Haliburton!!!! Please thank them when you’re in the store. We also thank Wayne and his talents for providing the benches. A clear “grassy” area was cleared for the tables and the trail to the outhouse tidied up. Please leave the tables in the grass and help us keep this area for all of us to enjoy. We hope to get some more tables in the future and have another clean-up in the fall. There is to be NO BURNING on this site please!

Everyone enjoy this wonderful DSLPOA waterfront beach. Such a wonderful sandy beach for all to enjoy.  Should be great for the Novelty Swim this year.

Lost & Found – A towable float, – It is turquoise blue, white and black in colour, wlth the brand name”O’Brien” in large letters. This has washed up on our beach.  Its legitimate owners may reclaim it at their convenience.  My cottage is the first cottage west of Indian Point.  Address: 1059 Stratheden Drive, off Indian Point road.  But I won’t be there till late next week.  No matter, the owners can just tow it away.  Hope this is helpful to someone.  – Yves

Cottage Insurance –  A reminder to cottage and seasonal property owners that several insurance companies in Haliburton provide discounts on your policy if you belong to FOCA (Federation of Cottage Association). DSLPOA is a member of FOCA so if you are a member of DSLPOA you are entitled to a discount.  Several insurance companies have advertised in the local papers that they support this programme. Perhaps this can help offset taxes?????
