Title: “Wildland Fire Preparedness and Awareness for Drag and Spruce Lake Property Owners Association,”
About:
“This zoom presentation hosted by the Drag and Spruce Lake Property Owners Association Executive invites Southern Region Fire Advisor Ken Cox from the Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services branch of Ontario’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry to speak about Wildland Fire and what the community members of Drag and Spruce Lake Property Owners Association can do to increase their own safety.
Ken brings with him 17 years of Wildland Fire experience through his career as a Wildland Firefighter based out of Haliburton Fire Management Headquarters and responding/being deployed across Canadas as required. Drag and Spruce Lake Property Owners Association members will learn about the current Wildland Fire response structure, Wildland Fire suppression assets, how fires start, and grow, the effects of wildland fire, as well as how Wildland Fire’s spread to structures unfortunately. Tying into how FireSmart Canada aspects make a huge positive impact for structural resiliency, helping both the Municipal Fire Services and MNR stand better chances to protect structures when threatened.”
