There has been some excellent discussion on this topic.
Everyone agrees we need better cellphone coverage. But the best location for the tower is less obvious, and has been less fully explored.
Allen Pizzey has led a charge to do some further digging and analysis to help us all understand and decide what's at stake, potential options and key decision-maker contacts.

Thank so much Allen Pizzey for posting the pictures of the proposed cell tower. We were concerned it might be a blight on the landscape but your excellent pictures show that it most definitely is not the case. From each view the cell tower is just this skinny line way way off in the distance. What a bonus this is including of course that we’ll finally get decent cell coverage. A win-win!!
We all need better cell coverage. We have kept our landline as an emergency phone, because cell coverage is very spotty. The proposed tower will be behind us. Hopefully we will get better coverage but wont know till it is in. We are on the west side of Drag and a tower on the east side of Drag would probably be better for us. But we really don’t have an option as Rogers has to triangulate between other towers as to the best location. Will the tower only benefit Rogers users, or will other providers also be able to use the tower?
Thank you Allen for taking the task. I haven’t been able to catch up on everything but I know new cell towers added in the mountain area I live look like spruce trees which is very helpful in blending in. I am sure they are more costly of course.
It will be a blight on our landscape, because anyone Rogers sells space on it will have to put a dish on the pole. And Rogers has another location ghat will serve just as well. It would just cost a bit more for them to put it there.
Instead, we will pay the price…in perpetuity.
