Water Management – CEWF ACM

6 September 2024 | 0 Comments

As you probably are aware, Drag/Spruce Lakes are part of the Trent-Severn Waterway water management system. TSW, as part of Parks Canada, manages our water levels via their dam at our outlet. To advocate for our interests in how the water is managed, DSLPOA is a member of CEWF - see below for a description of its mandate.

If you would like to understand a little more about how this works, tune in to the CEWF ACM - see below.

To familiarize yourself with the water management topic, here's a little background information (available from our website):

The Loon Survey Needs Your Help

15 August 2024 | 0 Comments
Due to a family emergency and medical issues I have not been able to be out on the water since mid June to collect data for the Drag Lake Loon Survey. I live at the entrance to Bonhams Bay and have happily been able to follow the loon family with one chick at the south end of the lake.
If you spot any loons with a chick or chicks on Drag Lake would you please let me know ?
We are contributors to the Canadian Lakes Loon Survey and information is submitted every September. With loon populations shrinking across the country, all data is crucial.
Many thanks for any help you can provide.
