DSLPOA Sailing Regatta Results

9 August 2024 | 0 Comments

The annual Drag Lake sailing regatta was held on Saturday August 3rd. We had a nice turnout of 7 boats ranging from lasers to Hobie cats. The wind conditions were quite variable, challenging the racers to adapt. After adjusting for handicaps, the results were as follows:

  • In first place, we had Greg Platt, Zoe Platt and Kayla Langon in a Hobie 16
  • John Willkes and Kurt placed second in their Laser 11
  • Bruce Freeman and Cash Freeman placed third in their Laser
  • Peter Freeman and Bea Freeman were fourth in a Laser
  • Madelaine Plat, Bennet Brule and Frankiesha placed fifth in a Hobie 18
  • Les Gondar placed sixth in his Hobie Tandem Island
  • Rod and Nancy McNairn sailed a great race in their Invitation, but missed the first buoy and ended up in 7th place

Thanks to Rozalynd Platt and Donna Freeman for serving as the race committee. Thanks to Huw Morgan for the safety boat and pictures and to our honorary ambassador, Ray Taylor!
