Hazard Buoy Update

Hazard Buoy Update

In keeping with our obligations with Canada’s Private Buoy Regulations under the Canada Shipping Act, this is to notify that the 10 hazard buoys on Spruce Lake (HR8) and Outlet Bay (HR4, HR5, HR6, HR7, HT1, HT2, HT3, HT4, HT5) have been swapped out for the winter markers.  The winter markers are white boat fenders so they sit higher on in the water and are easier to see.  As always for this time of year with the lower water levels, extra caution should be taken when navigating the lakes.

A special thanks to Gary Hunt for his help with these buoys.

It is anticipated that the Drag Lake Hazard buoys will be pulled over the Thanksgiving weekend.

HOW IT WILL BE RUN

The three Dysart Ward 2 Candidates will be in attendance.

This webinar is a collaborative effort of the Ward 2 lake associations of Drag and Spruce Lake Property Owners Association (DSLPOA), Lake Kashagawigamog Organization (LKO) and Miskwabi Area Community Association (MACA).

All three candidates will be present in the meeting, however the format is not that of a debate.  Each candidate will have 5 minutes to introduce themselves, explain why they are running for election and what their priorities are.  Following that, there will be an open session for Q&A with the audience where each candidate will be able to provide a response.  The audience will remain muted for the entire webinar and questions will be submitted through chat and read aloud by the lake association representatives.  The expectation is that candidate responses will focus on themself and not the positions of their opposition. The webinar will be recorded.

NOTE: If people find it easier, we will accept questions in advance which will then be submitted by a DSLPOA official during the webinar session. Please submit questions to our email address dragandsprucelakes@gmail.com. You can specify if you wish to be identified as the submitter.

There are currently a lot of issues on the table fundamentally affecting our future. Choose our political leaders wisely.

Some key topics to understand – shoreline protection, short-term rentals, septic inspections, county amalgamation, health care, housing.
