Short-term rentals (Airbnb, etc) are a rapidly growing phenomenon creating many challenges throughout the world. Haliburton County, as a prime tourist destination, finds itself front and center. Strong policies will be required to effectively manage our future.
Our municipal government has engaged a consultant to study the situation and make recommendations. One of the first steps is to solicit input from the residents via a survey (see below for link). It is important to become knowledgeable on the subject, and input into the process. Defining the result will be our decision. DSLPOA will attempt to make all key information readily accessible.
