Enjoy the Season!
Happy Thanksgiving to all our families.
We’re enjoying a fair amount of sunshine and the leaves are still beautiful. Town is very busy with cottagers and visitors to the Studio Tour. Enjoy the turkey!
Paddle Boat – a gold and turquoise paddle boat has washed up onto our shore. If this belongs to you please call Barb or Gunars at (705) 457-8864. We are near Bonham’s Bay.
Brown Tabby Cat – a very friendly female brown tabby cat has been found and rescued at the intersection of True North and Dardanelles on Sandy Cove. If you are the owner or know who is, please call Tanya at (705) 457-9950 so we can get this feline home!
Municipal Elections
While attending the last two all candidates meetings for Dysart et al. and Haliburton County I learned that only 26% of waterfront property owners voted in the last election. Please vote, we pay 80% of taxes and should have our voices heard. By now you should have received your mail in votes which makes it easy to participate. Please mail it in by October 17th. If you have not received yours please contact Dysart et al at dysartetal.ca or phone (705) 457-1740.
If you’d like to do research check out the Haliburton Echo’s Q&A responses from candidates on their website, the section is called “Election 2014”, www.haliburtonecho.ca .
You can also view playbacks of all candidate’s meetings on the Highlander Online TV at www.highlanderonline.ca .
Don’t forget that the CEWF (Coalition for Equitable Waterflow) also sent each candidate a set of questions relating to our waterfront concerns. As Martin Rist reports, these responses can be seen on the CEWF website www.cewf.ca . Martin sent out a previous update with this information!
